Former 9News Anchor Kyle Dyer to Moderate Public Event Featuring 2016 Candidates
WHO: The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), a program of JEWISHcolorado, advocates for domestic and international policy issues that affect the Colorado Jewish community, represents these views to the Jewish community and to the general community of Colorado, and organizes the Jewish community in times of crisis. JCRC consists of more than 30 member organizations, 15 at-large members and is affiliated with the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA).
The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW), Colorado section, is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideas into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving quality of life for women, children and families by safeguarding individual rights and freedom.
JEWISHcolorado, founded in 1946 and formerly known as Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado, is the umbrella community organization focused on building and sustaining Jewish life in Colorado, Israel and around the world. Its mission is to secure, steward, and share philanthropic and human resources in support of vibrant Jewish life as well as to mobilize the community in times of need. JEWISHcolorado is a member of the Jewish Federations of North America, which is among the top ten charities on the continent. JEWISHcolorado raises and distributes funds in support of a wide variety of programs and partner organizations both locally and globally. Last year, JEWISHcolorado’s Annual Campaign raised $11.2 million and the Endowment and Planned Giving arm houses more than $60 million in long term assets for individuals, agencies and synagogues in the community.
WHAT: The JCRC (a program of JEWISHcolorado) and the NCJW Colorado section, will sponsor the Candidates Forum 2016, a forum open to the general public that provides a platform for meeting the 2016 political candidates and also promotes a lively discussion amongst them.
Hosted by Kyle Dyer, formerly of 9News, Denver’s NBC affiliate and now journalist and owner of Kyle Dyer Storytelling, the event will offer the public an opportunity to first meet candidates for state and federal offices and to learn more about various ballot initiatives. Then, the meet and greet event will be followed by a forum where candidates for the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives will have an opportunity to address questions presented them.
